Simple ways to relax after a long day

This past week has been a long one.  After one of the long nights (I work graveyard shift) I had this week, I wiped off my makeup, changed into my most comfortable clothes, and vegged in front of the TV watching Friends.  Sometimes I’ll add a glass of wine with it 🙂 .  Nowadays, this is what helps me relax the best without many interruptions.  Mainly because it allows my daughter to constantly have sight of me while she’s playing, or else she would go looking and screaming for me =/ .

One day after I dropped Sadie off at daycare, I went to Target and stumbled on these cheap facial masks and decided to give it a try.  The prices range from $2.99 to $3.99 and currently, if you buy 3, you get 1 FREE! It was my first time using it and I absolutely love it!  It was so simple to apply.  Giving myself a quick facial after a long day really helps me relax!  But, I don’t do it very often because my daughter isn’t too fond of it.  LOL.  Sadie says, “mama, come back!” as she points and slowly walks away from me.  Hopefully, she’ll get use to it soon because I bought a few different kinds, and I can’t wait to try them all!

What I would do for a long, hot bath or shower!  The last time I was able to take a hot bath was before I had Sadie.  Oh, how I miss it.  Now, the moment I turn on the shower, I’ll immediately hear, “Mama, where are you?! Mama, where are you?” over and over again.  LOL.  Who else can relate to this?  I remember this use to be my go-to way to relax after a long day!  I would spend a crazy amount of time standing in the shower and letting the hot water just run all over me.  It really does help me clear my mind.

Taking a walk is something we do to relax as a family.  Most days after dinner, we would take a nice stroll around our neighborhood.  It’s a great way to help us digest our food, catch up on our day, and allow Sadie  to burn out her energy before bedtime.

Other ways that can help you relax are reading a book and/or doing yoga.  When I read a book, I usually get hooked on it from beginning to end and I don’t know if Sadie will allow me to do that… LOL.  But, I absolutely love reading!  Doing yoga is something I definitely want to try soon!  I’ve heard great things about it such as, it helps you relax, strengthens and tones up your body, improves your energy, and so on.  When I finally get started on it, I’ll let you all know how it goes 😉 .

What do ya’ll do to relax?
